South Bend, IN -- (Sports Network) - Luke Harangody led five players in double- figures with 29 points and also collected 12 rebounds, as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish pounded the Long Beach State 49ers, 82-62, in a non-conference battle at the Joyce Center.

Tory Jackson added 13 points for Notre Dame (3-0), while Ben Hansbrough contributed 11 points and seven assists. Tim Abromaitis also tallied 11 points in the win, while Jonathan Peoples posted 10 points.

Larry Anderson led the way for LBSU (2-1), netting 20 points in the loss. T.J. Robinson posted 16 points, while Greg Plater added 11 points off the bench. Eugene Phelps chipped in with only nine points, but was able to collect a game-high 18 caroms.

Notre Dame shot 51.7 percent from the floor in the opening half and went into the break with a 37-35 advantage.

The Irish continued their sharp shooting in the second stanza, netting a sizzling 64.3 percent of their attempts from the field, en route to the 20- point win.

Notre Dame won the battle in the paint, outscoring Long Beach State, 50-36.
