Gainesville, FL -- (Sports Network) - Freshman Kenny Boynton dropped in 23 points and the Florida Gators defeated the Troy Trojans, 80-58, as part of the Legends Classic at the O'Connell Center.

Boynton went 8-of-16 from the floor and grabbed six boards for Florida (3-0), which improved to 46-2 at home against non-league foes since 2004. Chandler Parsons added 15 points and seven boards off the bench, while Erving Walker had 13 points and seven assists. Dan Werner rounded out the double-digit scorers, with 12 points.

Richard Delk was the only Troy (2-1) player to reach double figures, finishing the night with 15 points.

Troy actually led at the half, 32-31, as it held Florida to just a 33.3 percent shooting performance from the field.

Florida, though, used a 19-3 run in the second half to seize control and pull away for the convincing 22-point victory.

The Gators knocked down 12-of-32 shots from beyond the arc, while the Trojans went just 4-of-22 from the same distance.
