Thoughts On The Indianapolis 500: Sarah Fisher
Sarah Fisher says her definitive memory of the Indianapolis 500 involves the first time she was there as a competitor.
Her first Indy 500 race day -- in May 2000 -- struck her because the atmosphere was so different from the preceding days, which she spent testing and practicing.
"On race day, you roll out and there's so many more colors, there's so many more people, and the environment just changes completely," Fisher told RTV6 in April. She said the thrill of race day at the 500 doesn't get old, but the feel of her debut was something special."When you come here to drive in your first 500, it's something that you have to take back and take a look at," she said.
