My First Indy 500: Dave Furst
Dave Furst is RTV6's sports director. "For me, one trip to the Brickyard was all it took.
It was 1979. My parents bought us seats along pit road. From the smell of fried chicken, to the sound of the engines, I was hooked. And then, to complete the deal, there was a large group of people sitting all around us with those white T-shirts with the black lettering that spelled the words "Mears
Gang."Rick won his first 500 that year and I became a fan for life.Since then, every time race day rolled around, I've made it a point to
be "Back Home Again in Indiana."
