Sources: IU's Davis Considering Tulane Job

Editor's note: For an update to this story, please click on this link.INDIANAPOLIS -- Some Indiana University men's basketball players have told confidants that coach Mike Davis is set to take the vacant head coaching job at Tulane, RTV6 has learned.Sources also said that IU Athletic Director Rick Greenspan is set to meet with the IU board of trustees at the beginning of this week, and that Tulane Athletic Director Rick Dickson wants to know at about the same time the answer to an offer he made regarding the Tulane opening, RTV6 Sports Director Dave Furst reported Saturday.
RTV6's attempts to reach Davis on Saturday were unsuccessful.Tulane fired head coach Shawn Finney last week.Davis has been IU's head coach since Sept. 12, 2000. IU finished 15-14 this year, ending the season with a 67-60 loss to Vanderbilt in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament.
