INDIANAPOLIS -- If you'd like to tell the governor what you think of his Colts stadium funding plan, you'll get your chance this week.
Monday, Gov. Mitch Daniels will begin a series of town hall meetings across the seven counties surrounding Marion County.
The governor said his plan would make a new Colts stadium and convention center expansion a reality. It would raise the food and beverage tax 1 percent. Daniels said the tax will not add up much for the average restaurant customer -- only 20 cents more on a $20 restaurant bill -- but will translate to a large chunk for the stadium project. The first town hall meeting will be held in Hancock County at the courthouse annex in Greenfield at noon Monday. The second meeting is at the Golden Corral in Shelbyville. That's at 6 p.m.Tuesday, Daniels will be in Boone and Hamilton counties. Wednesday, he'll be in Hendricks County. Thursday, he'll make stops in Morgan and Johnson counties.
