Indianapolis, IN -- Jeff Voris was named head football coach at Butler University on Wednesday.Voris spent the past five seasons rebuilding the football program at Carroll College. He led the Pioneers to a 6-4 record last season. "I'm excited about this opportunity," said Voris. "Butler has a football program that is steeped in great tradition. I know the program has struggled lately, and I realize there is a lot of work ahead of us. But I think we have the blueprint to do it and the energy to get it done."
He replaces Kit Cartwright, who was fired at the end of this past season. Butler was 0-11 in 2005 and the school went just 7-33 in four seasons under Cartwright.
