Texans' Spencer Lost For Season

POSTED: 8:32 pm EDT September 18, 2006

(Sports Network) - Houston Texans starting left tackle Charles Spencer will miss the remainder of the season with a broken left leg.

The 6-foot-4, 352-pound rookie, who suffered the injury in the third quarter of Houston's 43-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, had surgery Monday to repair the fracture.

"He has a fracture of the tibia, a severe fracture," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "The surgery went well. I don't think we'll probably know a whole lot about his recovery for another couple months. It's a very severe injury and you just hope things work out well."

Spencer was Houston's third-round pick in last April's NFL Draft.
