Blue Crew Sports Grill to reopen after Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay steps in

Colts fan establishment gets new life

INDIANAPOLIS - After a few days of closed doors, the Blue Crew Sports Grill announced Monday that it will reopen this afternoon.

A tweet from Jim Irsay about 2:15 p.m. said the grill would reopen, and owner Randy Collins confirmed the update on Facebook a short time later.

Irsay stepped in hours after Collins announced the grill's closure last week to say that he would help out financially.

"It goes without saying that we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jim Irsay and the Colts organization for helping us stay open," Collins wrote on Facebook. "I'm not sure how we could love our Colts any more than we already did, but somehow today, we do."

Collins also expressed gratitude to the fans who contacted him in the last few days.

"Thank you to everyone who sent us notes of encouragement and support," Collins wrote. "We love our Colts fans too!!!"

Collins posted a message Thursday saying that he had fallen behind on rent at the 96th Street building and found he'd been locked out.

The shortfall was $75,000, Collins said.
