BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Former Indiana University men's basketball coach Bob Knight gave current IU fans reason for hope Thursday. In a public speech at Bloomington High School North, Knight praised new IU coach Archie Miller, the Indianapolis Star reported.
"You folks get behind [Miller]," Knight said. "And I think you’re gonna enjoy some good basketball."
Knight was fired by Indiana University in 2000, and hasn't been back since then. Earlier in March, Knight said he has "no interest" in going back to IU, then followed up by saying he hopes the former administrators are all dead.
"As far as the hierarchy at Indiana University at that time, I have absolutely no respect for those people," he said on the Dan Patrick Show.

Miller was hired on March 25, about a week after Tom Crean was fired by the University. Miller had been with Dayton since 2011, amassing a 202-139 record.
In a one-on-one interview with RTV6's Dave Furst, Miller said he walks through Assembly Hall at least once per day.
"I take a stroll, just walk around and then back up to the office and it makes me understand what we're doing," he said. "Don't get caught up in making a thousand phone calls, just inhale it and take it all in."

As for Crean, it doesn't look like he's holding any grudges -- unlike his predecessor.
“People have been so great with the letters, with the stuff I was getting to the office, notes. 15-20 letters and stuff each day brought to the house,” said Crean. “It’s been awesome. The last thing you want to feel when you’ve been somewhere for nine years is that it didn’t matter.”
