First-year Colts player Tajiddin Smith was arrested early Friday on suspicion of drunken driving.

The 26-year-old wide receiver, identified as Smith-Wilson in a police report, was pulled over on Monument Circle after an officer said he was swerving and crossing the center line while driving downtown.

Police said Smith had to pull himself from his car and smelled of alcohol.

He failed a field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit, according to the police report.

Smith was arrested and preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Smith, who is originally from New Jersey, signed with the Colts practice squad in September 2009, and played for a short time during last Sunday's name against the New York Jets.
