INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts announced two new additions to the roster Monday to fill vacant quarterbacks and defensive quality control coaching positions.

Former St. Louis Rams and New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will take up the role as Colts quarterback coach vacated by Clyde Christensen, who left to become offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins.

Schottenheimer spent three years with the Rams and six with the Jets. During his tenure with the latter, the Jets earned back-to-back appearances in the AFC Championship Game.

Schottenheimer spent last season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Georgia.

The Colts also announced Monday that the team's assistant to the head coach Shawn Terlecky would move into the defensive quality control coach role.

Terlecky has 12 years of coaching experience, including two years as the cornerbacks coach for Mercyhurst University and three years at the University of North Carolina as a graduate coaching assistant.
