INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts placed third-string quarterback Charlie Whitehurst on injured reserve Monday, leaving questions swirling around who will start at QB in their final regular season game against the Tennessee Titans.

Quarterback Andrew Luck has been out of commission since early November with a lacerated kidney sustained against the Denver Broncos. Backup QB Matt Hasselbeck has been beaten up in successive starts – he's left the last four games in a row with an injury.

Hasselbeck's most recent exit left Whitehurst to pull off a victory against the Miami Dolphins.

With Whitehurst placed on the injured reserve list Monday, along with guard Hugh Thornton, and Hasselbeck leaving Sunday's game with his throwing arm in a sling, the Colts are left with two options: An unlikely 11th-hour return by Luck; or emergency backup QB Stephen Morris, who was signed on Christmas Eve.

Morris has spent most of the season on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. He was waived from the Jacksonville Jaguars in September.

Head Coach Chuck Pagano said in a Monday press conference Morris would likely be the starter on Sunday.

"He's the only healthy one we got in the building right now," Pagano said.

Hasselbeck, with a grade-1 AC sprain in his shoulder, is "doubtful" for Sunday, Pagano added.
