INDIANAPOLIS - Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is on the cover of this week's Sports Illustrated, highlighting a feature piece about the team's success and show of support for ailing head coach Chuck Pagano.
Senior writer Peter King crafted the cover story, "Chuckstrong, Luckstrong," touching on the Colts' surprise success this season, propelled by the talented rookie quarterback and inspired by Pagano's battle with leukemia.
"This whole story's for Steven Spielberg. I can't explain it," interim coach Bruce Arians told King for the article.
It's the first time a Colts player has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated since former quarterback Peyton Manning in November 2009.
Luck previously snagged the cover of a regional edition of the 2011 college football preview.
