HORSEPLAY: Inside the mind of the back-up QB

INDIANAPOLIS -- It's not easy being a back-up quarterback.

No, seriously.

On-call 24/7, always having to be prepared if you get the nod, and never fully being able to work on your own game plan while the starter shines in front of you.

Just ask Jim Sorgi, who backed up Peyton Manning in his Colts days. Sorgi says when you have someone in the dominant starter role, you prepare for them, rather than for yourself each week, which can make jumping in to the offense difficult at a moment's notice.

Sorgi talked more about what it was like for Matt Hasselbeck this week leading up to game time on Horseplay. Watch that in the video player above.
