INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting training camp in Indianapolis for the 2017 season.

Instead of at Anderson University, training camp will be held at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center on W. 56th Street in Indianapolis, the team announced Friday.

RTV6 reported in January that the Colts would not return to Anderson for this summer.

Practices will also be closed for the public, another change for the 2017 season. The team did say fans could watch two off-site practices planned at local venues.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said the team isn't committed to a certain location for 2018 and beyond.

“The dynamics of NFL training camps have changed through the years, and more teams are staying at home," Irsay said in a release. "Last summer, with weather being a factor, we practiced only 11 times in Anderson. While our camp plans beyond 2017 are uncertain, staying home this summer should help us with future determinations.”

The Colts have been with Anderson University since 2010. Before that, they practiced at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from 1999-2009.
