ATLANTA - Colts owner Jim Irsay made his first public comments since he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence last March.
Irsay appeared before reporters at the NFL owners meeting outside Atlanta on Monday. He is there to try to convince the league to bring the Super Bowl back to Indianapolis in 2018.
Irsay said Indianapolis deserves another Super Bowl after the amazing success of the last game the city hosted.
He also added that he will lobby every owner at Tuesday’s meeting to make it happen.
Irsay would not specifically address his arrest, his rehab or possible punishment, but he did say thanks for the support he has received from the city and from fans.
