After the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50, Peyton Manning dodged questions about whether he plans to retire.

But his mother said she thinks it's time for him to hang up his cleats.

"I would like for him to retire," Olivia Manning told the Los Angeles Times after the big game. "I would. Physically, I just don't think it's worth going on. He won a Super Bowl — it's the best way to go out."

"...he's been through a lot, he's going to be 40 years old. To get a win for the Broncos, Denver's a great city and great team. He loves this team," Manning's mom told reporters.

Manning wasn't ready to discuss retirement after the victory.

"I'll take some time to reflect," he said. "I have a couple of priorities first. I want to go kiss my wife and my kids. I want to go hug my family. I'm going to drink a lot of Budweiser tonight, I promise you that. I'm going to take care of those things first, and say a little prayer to thank the man upstairs for this great opportunity."

Manning has previously said this could be his final season with the NFL.

"Yes, this could be it. I am aware, this could be it," that's what Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning told the media at Opening Night of Super Bowl week in San Francisco.

"I haven’t made up my mind," Manning said in what may be the best and most truthful answer right now. Manning is getting ready to play a tough and talented Carolina Panthers football team in the Super Bowl. This really isn't a time to talk to his family and himself about the future.

After the AFC Championship game, Manning told Patriots head coach Bill Belichick,"Hey listen, this might be my last rodeo, so it sure has been a pleasure."
