INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts have signed Ted Monachino as defensive coordinator and Rob Chudzinski as offensive coordinator, according to a press release from the team.

Monachino, 49, spent six seasons working with the Ravens' linebackers under head coach John Harbaugh, including leading OLB Terrell Suggs to a 2011 Defensive Player of the Year award. He also coached Pro Bowlers Elvis Dumervil and LB C.J. Mosley from the time he was a rookie.

In 2014 with Monachino on board, Baltimore racked up the NFL’s second-most sacks, claimed the No. 2 red zone defense and allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game. Dumervil and Suggs also combined to produce the most QB drops among NFL duos. Monachino also helped the Ravens to the NFL's third-best defense in points allowed in the 2011 season.

He started his professional career with Jacksonville in 2006, working to develop their defensive ends before becoming their defensive line coach. Prior to that, he worked with various college and high school programs.

"We are pleased to announce the hiring of Ted Monachino as our next defensive coordinator," Head Coach Chuck Pagano said in the release.

"Ted brings a wealth of experience with 25 years of coaching all on the defensive side of the ball. He has overseen one of the league's best linebacker units for the last six years and I had the privilege of coaching with him for two of those seasons. Ted is very familiar with our scheme. He is a great motivator and is extremely respected by the players he has coached."

Chudzinski spent the last two seasons with the Colts. He recently served as the associate head coach in 2015. He assumed control of the offensive coordinator duties and responsibilities on Nov. 3, 2015 when the team terminated former Offensive Coordinator Pep Hamilton.

He served as special assistant to the head coach in 2014.

In 2013, he served as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Prior to joining the Browns, Chudzinksi spent two years as offensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers.
