INDIANAPOLIS -- According to reports from ESPN and NFL reporters, the Colts have told quarterback Matt Hasselbeck that he does not figure in their plans for next year.

He will become a free agent, according to ESPN.

The 40-year-old played in eight games this last season after Andrew Luck was injured. He threw for 1,690 yards and nine touchdowns.

Hasselbeck was signed by the Colts as a free agent on March 19, 2013 after he was released by the Titans.
