Gov. Mitch Daniels will serve as the honorary starter for the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500.The governor will be presented with the green flag during a ceremony on the yard of bricks Wednesday.

Daniels plans to ride his motorcycle with members of the Indiana Patriot Guard Riders during the 500 Festival Parade on Saturday.He'll wave the green flag to start Sunday's race.
