INDIANAPOLIS - Girls soccer players and parents at Franklin Central High School are angry that an administrator's mistake could void the teams' wins for the season.

Parents said they were told that Franklin Township Community Schools Athletic Director Burt Austin did not fill out the proper paperwork with the Indiana High School Athletic Association for two transfer students -- one who played on the varsity team and one on the junior varsity team.

Because the teams have played with ineligible players all season, their wins will likely be vacated, including the junior varsity's undefeated record, the parents were told.

A district representative told RTV6 that the school self-reported the violations to the IHSAA.

"Franklin Township Community Schools are saddened that an adult oversight impacted our student athletes," Superintendent Flora J. Reichanadter said in a statement. "An immediate review of our athletic department procedures regarding team rosters was implemented. The procedures for checking student transferred have been changed to include a specific check and balance system to ensure this oversight does not happen again at Franklin Central High School."

After the situation came to light, some parents have asked for refunds of their $250 season fee.

Austin declined to comment on the issue to RTV6 on Thursday.

The IHSAA is expected to address the violations at its next board meeting Oct. 4.
