INDIANAPOLIS - A Ball State University junior from Indianapolis was crowned the 500 Festival queen Saturday.
Allison Jacob, a 2010 graduate of Lawrence Central High School, is studying public relations and communications at Ball State. She receives a $2,500 educational scholarship as queen.
"It's honestly a great, overwhelming feeling. I was standing on state surrounded by the most elite women in Indiana," Jacob said.
Bailey Farrer, a sophomore at Purdue University from Royal Center, and Marlie Mathis, a senior at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis from Greenwood, were named to the princess court.
The 33 young women selected as part of the 2013 500 Festival Princess Program represent nine Indiana colleges and universities and 21 Indiana communities.
