INDIANAPOLIS -- Rookie driver Jack Harvey hit the wall in Turn 2, marking the first crash of Indy 500 practice this year.

Harvey lost control just before 4 p.m. on the first day of practice for the Indy 500, coming out of the turn too low and slamming into the wall when he couldn't over-correct. He drifted down to the inside of the back stretch and the car came to a stop.

He got out of his #50 Honda on his own power. No major injuries have been reported.

Harvey is a rookie from England with Michael Shank Racing and Andretti Autosport.
