INDIANAPOLIS -- Vice President Mike Pence will attend the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, sources tell Call 6 Investigates.

There will likely be additional security measures in place, but those are still in the planning stages.

It is unknown what Pence's role will be in the race.

Last year, then-Governor Pence attended the race with his family. Last year's race took place about six weeks before Donald Trump chose him as his running mate.

After Pence was selected to be the vice presidential candidate, security at the governor's residence was increased.
