Zip line announced in 2 locations at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before, during Indianapolis 500

Zip line will move from tower to Snake Pit

INDIANAPOLIS - For the first time, race fans will have the chance to zip line through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The zip line, which will start 32 feet high and travel 200 feet, will first be installed just north of the Tower Terrace, running parallel to cars roaring out of turn four.

That location will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 17; 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 18; and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 19. Each ride costs $5.

The zip line will then move to the IMS Snake Pit presented by Miller Lite -- inside Turn 3 of the IMS infield -- for operation from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on race day on May 26.

All fans with a race ticket and free Snake Pit wristband can ride the zip line in the Snake Pit for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Snake Pit wristbands can be obtained at www.indy500snakepit.com .
