Charlotte's balanced offensive attack on Wednesday night was capped by a long two-run home run off the bat of catcher Josh Phegley, a native of Indiana, as the Knights beat the Indianapolis Indians 8-1 at Victory Field to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five opening round of the International League playoffs.
The Indians are in the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
A power hit at Victory Field about 8 p.m., followed by a 16-minute delay, was a bad omen for Indianapolis.
Game two of the series is set for Wednesday night at 7:05 at Victory Field. The game will also be live on HTSN.
