Some Indiana lawmakers are trying to make it possible to buy packaged "carry-out" alcohol at this year's Indy 500 -- but it's not quite what it seems.
The current law states that the Indy 500 vendors can sell alcohol at the event, but opened. It's similar to what you'd see at any major sporting event.
But senators Ron Alting, Brandt Hershman and R. Michael Young -- all republicans -- have authored a bill to allow for the Indy 500 vendors to sell sealed bottles of alcohol from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on race day.

The catch is that all bottles sold would have to be commemorative, and not any generic alcohol bottles.
