INDIANAPOLIS -- Sarah Fisher has come a long way since 2000, when she drove as a 19-year-old in the Indianapolis 500 for the first time.

Her racing days are now in the rearview mirror. She's no longer a driver or team owner. She's moved on to the restaurant and indoor go-karting business.

Fisher's Speedway restaurant and go-karting business opened on April 1. But it's a different life for Fisher.

She drove in the Indianapolis 500 nine times. When her driving days were over, she owned a race team with Ed Carpenter.

Connecting with customers seems easy for her, but putting together this operation was not.

"The pressure is the same," Fisher said. "You always put pressure on yourself to perform, whether it is in a race car, or whether it is leady a race team, whether it's leading a restaurant staff or carting team. Here we have four times the number of employees than we had at the racing team. It's been awesome providing these jobs. It's been fun. We've enjoyed it."

The facility will be open on Monday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
