Indiana State takes early lead on Cardinals

MUNCIE, Ind. -    Jake Odum led Indiana State with 21 points and six assists as the Sycamores beat rival Ball State 68-48 on Tuesday night.

   Odum was 7 of 13 from the field. Manny Arop had 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. R.J. Mahurin added 13 points, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range.

   The Sycamores (3-1) led throughout the game, building a 35-24 lead at halftime.

   Indiana State made 12 points off turnovers, twice as many as Ball State. Ball State shot 32 percent from the field for the game.

   Jauwan Scaife scored 16 points for the Cardinals (2-1). Majok Majok posted a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds. Marcus Posley had five assists.

   The series between the Indiana schools dates back to 1922.  Indiana State owns a 70-57 lead against the Cardinals.
