INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Pacers selected Iowa State forward Georges Niang with their 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft.

The 6'9", 231 pound small forward was a standout player for the Iowa State Cyclones, averaging 20.2 points per game in his senior year.

Niang was named to the Big 12 All-Rookie Team his freshman year at Iowa State. Before that, he was the 2012 NEPSAC Class AA Player of the Year.

Niang will join Thaddeus Young as the newest members of the Pacers squad. The team traded its first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Young, a power forward who averaged 15.1 points per game last season.
