INDIANAPOLIS -- Retired NFL quarterback Michael Vick will speak at an Indianapolis church this November to share his story of redemption.

Vick was drafted No. 1 overall in 2001, was named to three Pro Bowls and became one of the highest-paid athletes in the world before his involvement in an illegal dog fighting ring landed him in a federal prison for 21 months.

The Virginia Tech grad eventually returned to the NFL in 2009, under the mentorship of former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy, but his character was always a controversial one for being able to return to such a high-profile stage. He retired this year as an Atlanta Falcon.

Vick will speak at the New Beginnings Fellowship Church on Thursday, November 16 at 7 p.m. as part of a special youth-led service.

The church is located at 2125 N. German Church Road, Indianapolis.

Vick now shows up on TV regularly for Fox Sports as an analyst.
