Here's a deal.

Dish Network, the nation's second-largest satellite television provider, said Tuesday that it will hand out 10 years' worth of free service to every household in a town that renames itself Dish.

The service will include a receiver, standard installation and a programming package for every household in town, according to EchoStar Communications Corp., which operates the Dish Network.

In exchange, the municipality must agree to change its name legally and permanently on government buildings, post offices, official letterhead, schools, hospitals and all signs.

The deal would be worth about $4 million for a town of 1,000 households over the 10-year period.

Interested towns and cities have until Nov. 1 to submit a proposal.
