Washington, DC -- (Sports Network) - Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro continued his dominance of the ATP Tour Sunday with a 6-3, 6-3 waxing of unseeded Viktor Troicki in the finals of the $508,000 Legg Mason Tennis Classic. The second-seeded del Potro extended his winning streak to 19 consecutive matches and has taken the title in the last four events he has entered. Victories on clay courts at Stuttgart and Kitzbuhel preceded a pair of U.S. Open hardcourt tune-ups at Los Angeles last week and now DC. "I'm very happy," del Potro said following the match. "I don't really understand what I did. I have no words to describe the feeling I have in this moment. It is difficult to believe that I have won four consecutive titles. I just want to enjoy this moment." Serbia's Troicki knocked off top-seed Andy Roddick in the quarterfinals earlier in the week but stood no match for del Potro. "Right now I feel a little disappointed that I lost," Troicki said. "But this is a normal feeling after losing a match. Overall I am very happy to have played my first ATP final in my career. I will try to enjoy this moment." The eventual champion needed just 39 minutes to take care of the first set and pulled away late in the second for yet another straight-set victory. During his incredible run, del Potro has dropped only two sets. "I want to do well at the U.S. Open," del Potro said of the major that will commence August 25th in New York. "I think I have the conditions and the game to do well there. It is the biggest tournament for me. It is my dream to win the U.S. Open." The 19-year-old collected $80,650 for the taking the title, while Troicki pulled down $43,500 for his finals appearance.
