2nd Round Of Winter Storm Pushes Through Indiana

Gusty Winds Cause Blowing, Drifting Snow

The second round of a winter storm that struck Indiana proved more ferocious than the first.

There wasn't much additional accumulation overnight in Indianapolis, but a little light snow, combined with winds gusting up to 35 mph caused treacherous travel conditions.

The total accumulation from the storm is expected to be 4 to 6 inches in the Indianapolis area, with a little more north of the city.

More than 300 central Indiana schools delayed or canceled classes for the day.

The low-pressure system responsible for the snow will push out of the area during the day on Wednesday, leaving a few snow showers and flurries behind.

Winds will begin subsiding during the day, helping road crews catch up.

Temperatures will stay below normal for the rest of the week, with two more snow chances in the days ahead.

Some flurries and snow showers will be possible on Friday evening and Saturday morning. More accumulating snow could move into the region on Sunday.
