Hello Cold Air!
Kevin's Weather Blog
Goodbye mosquitoes! Cancel the global warming press conference. The "hot" topic is the early arrival of cold air!
We just missed setting another all-time record for Indianapolis. The earliest first freeze ever recorded occurred on September 30, 1899. Many cities in central Indiana will dip below freezing within the first few days of this new month.
As we drop below freezing early this fall, keep in mind it took along time to climb above 90 degrees this summer. Our first warm days occurred in early July.
In all we only recorded 6 days of 90 degrees or more this summer. The warmest day was August 27 when Indianapolis touched 93 degrees.
