INDIANAPOLIS -- The dangerous combination of cold air and strong winds will continue into Friday evening in central Indiana, prompting an extension of a wind chill advisory for many counties in the viewing area.
The advisory expired at 12 p.m. for some counties, but was extended until 6 p.m. for others. (Check Affected Counties)Much of central Indiana awoke to temperatures below zero degrees Friday morning.A temperature of minus 3 degrees was reported in Indianapolis at 6 a.m., marking the coldest morning of the season, RTV6 meteorologist Paul Poteet said.Friday's high temperature is predicted to reach about 9 degrees in Indianapolis, Poteet said. Some areas may see some light flurries Friday.Saturday morning may be even colder, with a low temperature of minus 5 degrees possible. That day's high is expected to reach around 19 degrees.Temperatures may finally creep above the freezing mark Sunday. A high temperature of 34 degrees is expected.Monday could bring rain or snow, Poteet said.
