Quick storm to dump more snow on parts of Indiana

Up to 5 inches of snow expected

INDIANAPOLIS - A weak storm system tracking south of Indiana will bring more snow to the southern half of the state through early Saturday morning.

A winter weather advisory is in place along and south of a line from Terre Haute to Muncie, including the Indianapolis area. Accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are possible.

The advisory area was updated just before 10 p.m. to include Indianapolis. A winter storm warning was posted for far southern Indiana, near Louisville.

Lighter accumulations are expected north of Indianapolis.

The storm doesn't have as much moisture or wind to work with as the storm system earlier this week that dumped up to a foot of snow on parts of the state, but it will cause hazardous travel conditions in the southern half of the state.

The storm system will pull away early in the day on Saturday, leaving more chilly temperatures in place.
