August is here and some kids are already back in school. The summer season seems to be flying by! That said, our weather continues a summer feel for the next several days.
Today is the pick of the weekend! Lots of sunshine and low humidity gives us the green light for any of your outdoor plans. If you are heading to the pool or working in the yard, don’t forget the sunscreen. Our UV Index sits in the very high category today. Highs will climb into the mid 80s.
We kick up a few clouds tonight, but most of us stay dry. We can’t entirely rule out a pop-up shower north of a Lafayette-Kokomo-Marion line. We stay a little warmer, with lows in the mid 60s.
A front nears the area Sunday. This brings an increase in clouds and humidity. Be AWARE a shower or storm is possible during the afternoon and evening. Any rain that does move through could be heavy, but should be brief. Highs in the mid 80s will combine with the humidity to bring us heat index values near the 90 degree mark.
