INDIANAPOLIS - The severe weather from overnight continues to push off to the east. However, there will be the chance of additional severe weather later this afternoon and into the evening hours.
The Storm Prediction Center still has us under the slight risk for severe storms for Tuesday with the main threat being damaging winds. However, a few tornado warnings cannot be completely ruled out.
Don’t expect to see a whole lot in the way of sunshine today as we will remain overcast with warm and humid conditions.
The showers and storms will remain in the forecast through Thursday until we finally usher in a new air mass for the end of the week with much cooler and less humid air.
As far as race day, I’m leaning towards dry at this point, but there is one computer model that wants to bring in a few light rain showers late in the day. However, with a lot of dry air in place from the departing area of high pressure, even if those showers try to move in, most of them would at this point evaporate before reaching the ground.
