Police: Bomb found among squatter's things

INDIANAPOLIS - Investigators and neighbors still had many questions about a pipe bomb that was found in a home on the near-north side Tuesday afternoon.
Multiple units were dispatched to a home near 13th Street and Central Avenue about 2:30 p.m., where a pipe bomb was found.
Explosive experts did a controlled detonation of the bomb just before 4 p.m.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were alerted by a bank employee who saw a package on the porch and a device inside while checking on the bank-owned home.
Investigators said witnesses told them that a possible squatter living in the home left just before police arrived.
"We've been wondering why the guy's been squatting there, but he goes to work every day," one neighbor said.
Police evacuated dozens of nearby homes with help from FBI agents prior to detonating the device.
No injuries were reported.
