North-side church loses snowblower to thieves

Tracks in snow provide few clues

INDIANAPOLIS - Fresh tracks in the snow provided few clues after thieves made off with a snowblower from a church just north of downtown.

The pastor at Joy of All Who Sorrow Orthodox Church at East 16th and Delaware streets told police the $1,200 two-stage Toro snowblower was lifted out of the bed of his pickup after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

He pointed out tracks in the fresh snowfall that showed a vehicle pulled directly next to his truck to carry out the crime.

Police now have the serial number off the snowblower, but no arrests have been made.

Plows have cleared the parking lot and most of the sidewalks around the church have already been cleared of snow for weekend services.
