INDIANAPOLIS - The effort to help heroin addicts in Indianapolis has reached new heights.
The Call 6 Investigators learned that with four months left in the year, the City of Indianapolis is close to surpassing the amount of Narcan given out compared to last year.
Narcan is used to help heroin addicts recover from an overdose. As of Wednesday, the city has provided 616 doses of Narcan compared to 629 last year.
The city could possibly break the record by this weekend.
First responders are treating at least four patients every day in Marion County.
