Other Hendricks County locations being considered

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - A developer has pulled his plans for an indoor shooting range in Brownsburg after hearing the concerns of nearby residents.
Joe Sellmer had planned to open an indoor shooting range in an industrial park on Southpoint Circle on Brownsburg's northwest side, said Brownsburg Planning Director Todd Barker.
Sellmer invited nearby residents to a series of meetings, where they were encouraged to ask questions and express their concerns about the range, which were numerous.
Some voiced concerns about safety, especially the potential of an accident in the range's parking lot, and others were concerned about noise.
"I just think to have a firing range this close to a residential area is a bad choice," Brian Eastridge, who lives near the proposed site of the range, told RTV6 in February.
But Sellmer defended the safety of the proposed range.
"We'll have state-of-the art bullet containers, state-of-the art ventilators," Sellmer told RTV6 in February. "Our focus is on responsible gun ownership and training."
Barker said Sellmer pulled his request after hearing the residents' concerns at the meetings.
Sellmer still plans to open a shooting range in Hendricks County if he can find a suitable location, Barker said.
