Victim's identity released

INDIANAPOLIS - Investigators have identified the victim of a fatal Sunday night shooting just north of downtown.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting occurred just before 9:30 p.m. near 17th and Bellefontaine streets.

Officers said they found the victim, Frank Gray, 47, in the overgrowth of a nearby alley. The Marion County Coroner's Office told RTV6 Monday that Gray died of multiple gunshots to the back and investigators are considering it a homicide.

Information on any suspects has not been released. Police said they don't have a motive for the shooting at this time.
