IMPD: Man wounded by gunshot on city's north side

INDIANAPOLIS - A man was shot in the shoulder Tuesday morning on the city’s north side, police said.

IMPD said at roughly 10:01 a.m., officers were sent to the 2100 block of Shelburne Drive to respond to a man shot in the shoulder. Police said someone called 911 from an apartment complex at that location, but the shooting reportedly occurred somewhere nearby on Michigan Road.

There is no word yet as whether there are any suspects in the shooting, or how the man got shot. There are no details yet on the condition of the victim.

Police have said there is nothing to indicate a connection between this shooting and one that happened in roughly the same area earlier Tuesday. Investigators said a woman was shot in the leg during a home invasion that was reported just before 8 a.m. near 79th Street and College Avenue.
