Rain and snow arrive tonight

INDIANAPOLIS - ALERT: Winter Weather Advisory for Indianapolis row of counties 7pm tonight-7am Monday.  Winter Storm Warning north of the advisory 7pm tonight- 7am Monday. Big snowfall potential range of a trace south to 9”+ north.

…1st round of rain and snow begins after 7pm this evening
…Heaviest Snow: Monticello to Kokomo to Marion and north… 9+”
…Band between about Lafayette and Crawfordsville east to Muncie…5”-9”
…Sharp drop off near I-70 with 2”-5” possible for Indy and north side of city with just 1”-2” on the south side
…Lightest Snow: Bloomington to Greensburg south…less than 1”

The question remains as to how far north the warm air will make it.  A small shift in the rain/snow line will have a big impact on totals.  That’s why there’s such a gradient across the central part of the state.

We turn windy and much colder Sunday night, which will lead to blowing and drifting snow.
