INDIANAPOLIS - Mild temperatures are welcome this weekend, after more than a week and a half of frigid conditions. The good news is the seasonably mild weather sticks around through the end of the weekend. The flip side is an increase in rain chances.
An area of light rain moves through tonight, but should be out of here by sunrise Sunday. This leaves much of Sunday dry with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 50s. The best chance of rain all weekend comes Sunday evening into the overnight. Heavy downpours are possible with many spots picking up around 1” of rain by Monday morning. As colder air moves in Monday, rain showers may transition to some light snow before ending.
In addition to all of the other changes coming our way, we’ll need to keep an eye on winds. SE winds around 15 mph Sunday afternoon kick up around 20-25 mph Sunday night, with gusts near 30 mph. They shift to the WNW Monday, and may gust over 40 mph at times.
