Bird Leads Storm Past Monarchs

(Sports Network) - Sue Bird poured in 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting to lead the Seattle Storm to a 77-71 win over the Sacramento Monarchs in the last game for both clubs before the monthlong Olympic break.

Swin Cash scored 13 points for Seattle, which improved to a WNBA-best 13-1 at home this season. Tanish Wright had 12 points and six assists for the Storm.

Scholanda Robinson scored 13 points off the bench to lead the Monarchs, who saw their seven-game win streak come to an end. Nicole Powell had 12 points but shot only 3-for-10 for Sacramento.
