Coming from the sunshine state, Erin Lisch joins the RTV6 team in October 2017 as a multi-media journalist.
The native Floridian is no stranger when it comes to the cold as her first reporting job was in Fargo, North Dakota. She then headed south to Florida’s capital for warmth. Now, she’s back in the mid-west and enjoying the changing seasons.
Graduating from Florida State University, you will always find her cheering on the Seminoles (don’t worry, she's a fan of Indiana teams).
This Associated Press finalist is bringing her talent and love for journalism here to Indiana.
Erin’s a forever Floridian, but excited to now be a Hoosier!
Q: Why did you decide to pursue television news as a career?
A: I was always a performer growing up and always asking a thousand questions (sorry mom for asking you why all the time). I figured why not take my big personality and my ability to be nosy and take crack and journalism. Guess it paid off!
Q: What was your first job?
A: I’m a big golfer, and it can get expensive. So, I decided to go work at the local golf course in Tallahassee. It was a great experience, and I was able to golf for free.
Q: What is favorite way to spend a day off?
A: As a Floridian, I’m always wanting to be outdoors. Anything sports related, count me in (except basketball, never ask me to be on your team.)
Q: Most memorable story you ever covered?
A: I reported in the eye of Hurricane Hermine in Florida. Although I was completely soaked for days, it was exhilarating!
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Figaro is my feisty tuxedo cat. He’s named after the cat in Disney’s Pinocchio!
Q: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing?
A: I wanted to be an astronaut growing up, but I’m not sure NASA would accept my resume now.
