Six Hoosiers now diagnosed with COVID-19, including one in Boone County

INDIANAPOLIS —Six Hoosiers have now been diagnosed with coronavirus, including one new case in Boone County.

The Indiana State Department of Health released the new information Tuesday morning. So far 36 people have been tested in the state.

The positive tests have come from Marion, Hendricks, Noble, Adams and Boone counties.

Avon Community Schools have already closed for two weeks after a child tested positive in the district. That child attends Hickory Elementary School. On Monday, the school announced that a second child had begun showing symptoms, but so far no additional positive tests have come back. Students and staff will return to the district after spring break on April 6.

In Noble County, a patient is being isolated at a local hospital in Kendallville after testing positive. Patients in Hendricks and Marion counties are self-isolating. It is unclear the condition or isolation of the patients in Boone or Adams counties at this time.
