INDIANAPOLIS — Downtown Indy Inc. is launching a new arts and culture initiative with the Lilly Endowment, Inc. on Nov. 9.
On Nov. 9, people will be able to see the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument in red, white and blue with videos and light projections being displayed on surrounding buildings. Known as Indy's Signature Salute, the five-minute program will occur nightly with a synchronized musical score from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra written by Emmy-Award winner John Colby.
The video and light display will feature images of historic significance.
Through the grant initiative, the two organizations hope to "enhance quality of life in Indianapolis, bolster Indianapolis image as a desirable place to live, work, and play and visit, and foster a creative, energized and forward-thinking community," according to the project's website.
